Dear Members,

We want to share an important update regarding our facility with you.

To enhance our center and safeguard it against future flooding, we are embarking on a significant construction project. This initiative directly responds to the severe flooding and damage we experienced during Hurricane Ida in 2021.

Our goal is to prevent such occurrences from happening in the future. We will be removing the existing entrance doors and installing advanced floodgate doors with a large rolling door at the entryway. This construction underscores our long-term commitment to our location and all of you, our valued members.

Temporary Entrance Changes:
Due to this construction, the main entrance will be closed for approximately three weeks. During this period, we kindly ask that you use the Green Corner Café entrance as an alternative. We understand the café doors are not automatic, and we want to ensure smooth access for everyone. If you require assistance entering the building, please let us know by calling; the Front Desk can assist. We also want to assure our members who use mobility aids that the handicap ramp will remain accessible throughout construction.

Timeline:
We anticipate completion of the entire project by late August to early September. Rest assured, we are committed to minimizing any inconvenience and will strive to keep you updated on our progress.

This major construction is a testament to our dedication to providing all our members with a safe and improved environment. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this period.

Should you have any concerns or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. Your patience and support as we make these improvements are invaluable.

Thank you for being a part of our community. We look forward to welcoming you through our new and improved entrance very soon!

Warm regards,

Bob O’Connell
