Why did you go into Personal Training?
I started working out in high school with my friends at the local police athletic league weight room and quickly fell in love with how it made me look and feel. When I started college, I realized I could study exercise science and turn my passion for working out into a rewarding career helping others achieve their fitness goals.
John’s Success Stories
Will C.
I have been a member for over two years and have been training twice weekly with John for over a year. At the onset, John took the time to understand the goals I wanted to achieve from a personal, mental, and emotional perspective. We also discussed any restrictions I had, both medically and physically, that he needed to consider when putting together my workouts.
He reviewed the plan with me, explaining how it was made to assist me with my goals. John always encourages me during every session and explains each exercise’s benefits and targeted muscle group. John modifies my workouts monthly, targeting the areas we agree need further attention or focus. Several months into my training, he monitored my BMI monthly using the InBody machine to gauge my progress compared to what I wanted to achieve. I knew I felt much better physically and mentally, and seeing the change in my body’s muscle mass increasing and my fat mass being reduced showed me we were on the right path. I have had several surgeries over the past 8 months, and John took into consideration my recovery time when planning our daily training sessions.
I am a 70-year-old man who hasn’t felt this good in 30 years! In a recent annual physical, my primary doctor told me to keep doing whatever I’ve been doing because it’s working for me when reviewing my test results. In closing, John always makes it feel like a team effort to achieve my goals. For the first time in my life, I look forward to coming to the gym to train twice a week. Thanks, John, for your expertise, patience, and commitment, which you continuously display.

John and I have been working together for a year. We work on core strength, weight, resistance, and balance training during our two weekly sessions. Keeping notes on his iPad, he progressively challenges me without being critical. I am diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, but I and people around me have noticed the improvement in my flexibility and balance. Parkinson’s is progressive, but with my trainer’s help, we are slowing its effects. My quality of life has been dramatically improved with John’s professional help.

I’ve been training weekly with John for about 6 months and am very pleased with the experience. At each session, John comes prepared with a workout that addresses my weekly needs for strength, power, balance, stamina, and/or agility. In the best possible way, John encourages me to go beyond my comfort zone, resulting in improved results in all training areas. John is supportive and patient, and I highly recommend him as a Personal Trainer.

I have been training with John since October 2024 and can’t recommend him highly enough. His knowledge and ability to adapt workouts to meet my changing needs impress me. His positive attitude always helps me stay motivated. Even though it’s just a once-a-week training session, I have seen excellent results and have become the kind of person who looks forward to her workouts!

John has been instrumental in helping me get fitter and stronger despite my constant complaints!
I’ve been training with John for about a year now. He listened to my goals at our first meeting and showed me how to reach them. He is encouraging, my biggest cheerleader, and always pushes me to do better.
RWJ is lucky to have John on its team. He is a great asset, and I highly recommend him.

My name is Roger. I have had Parkinson’s for over ten years. I was working out at the Center in Old Bridge when they closed. I felt so bad, and I didn’t know where to go. My wife did the homework and called this place, and we met the Trainer, John. We talked, and I knew we had found the right trainer. I had been working out for 3 weeks, and John showed me he cares and is professional. He knows how to train Parkinson’s people. I’m thrilled to have found this place and John. We will keep going to become stronger. Thank you so much.
